The Gateway East

152 Beach Road 189721, Singapore

The Gateway was designed by I.M. Pei, a world-renowned Chinese-American architect and is two separate 37-story buildings. One of his goals after it was built was to invite and welcome people from all over the world as well as “symbolize the ‘Gateway’ to Singapore.” This building truly has a unique characteristic since, if seen from one angle, one’s optical illusion might be mislead since both, The Gateway East and The Gateway West, look like standing panes of glass. The Gateway East is a Grade A building built in 1990 that stands at 37 floors above ground. This building was awarded the BCA Construction Excellence Award for its marvelous design and state-of-the-art development
